Over the past few months I have been slowly discovering what my new favorite, or, "grownup" favorite music is...
Things like "Appetite for Destruction", "*uck the Police" and "The Marshall Mathers LP" are representative of the ilk of my "adolescent" favorites. (The big disclaimer here is that I am 36 and only now starting to ease away from my adolescence.)
A few years ago when I heard "The Man Comes Around" by Johnny Cash I saw some foreshadowing of the type of more mature music I would appreciate as I got older ... Not necessarily style-wise, but lyrically ... My eclectic tastes in musical styles have remained consistent; but my lyrical appreciations have run to more mature, or at least, much deeper expressions.
More recently, I have come across two more albums that I would add to "The Man Comes Around" on my "grownup" music list ... 2 albums that I would have to say that I have appreciated more than any I have heard in the last 10 years (at least).
Fishscale by Ghostface Killah ... and ...
Back to Black by Amy Winehouse

Love Amy Winehouse! Now I gotta add Ghostface to my must listen list.
