My daughter completed in the district singing completition today.  She did an Italian Aria.  And she got a 1! 

Which means she got the highest score that you can get.  She is 15 now and this is the third year for her to compete at district and this is the first year that she has gotten a 1.  We are so proud of her.  Her voice coach raves about her potential and thinks that she has an unlimited ceiling if she continues to work hard. 

Now she goes to the State Competition, Best of the Best.  This is her first year to make State and we are just looking for a solid performance.  But, the opportunity is in front of her and at 15 she has time and room to grow. 

The previous years have been tough because, by coincidence, the top 2 singers in the state have also gone to her High School, Classen SAS.  But Alix is coming into her own now and she is catching up to them.  She has a great opportunity to make a splash this year and the next 2 years. 

Alix does not want to try to make singing her career, and that is fine with my wife and I.  We want her to choose her path.  And if that is not singing, that is fine (and probably a good choice...that is a tough life).  But if she does excel and it helps pay for college, that is fine too!

I finally have found a person that has given me hope again that America can change.

I just added a new section to the el reno chamber admin web site...

I added a section to upload, update, reorder, and delete newsletters for their web site...

Not like that is brain surgery or anything...but compared to what we do everyday....it was like a first day kindergarten class....

Made it completely object oriented and database driven and did it all in under an hour....

It made me appreciate how muther fuggin hard our job we do every day is and how much of a better programmer I am now as compared to two months ago.

The site is starting to come together.  Great banner...much thanks to dm.  I can see this quickly becoming another great spot on the 'net for Sooner fans.
